All right reserved. images › The project “Self-abstractions” examines the movement as a universal means of expression and the horoscope as а vehicle of cosmic energies and a modification of the contemporary dance. I’m interested in the possibility of transforming the speech into body movements and its postpeception. I’m using the planets and their positions in my own astro chart to depict each one of them through non-verbal gestures, which I interpret as an act of self-awareness. The gestures are based on ancient harmonious movement Eurhythmy originated in 1912 by the Austrian scientist, philosopher and mentor of the abstract painters, Rudolf Steiner and later elaborated by Kaloyan Petrov. The project pays also homage to Edward Muybridge and his chronophotographs taken for the purpose of studying the phases of motion.
